Rock N Roll Books/SCB Distributors, who earlier this year acquired retail rights to ‘Bohemian Rhapsodies: True and Authorized Tales by Queen Fans and Celebrities,' is excited to announce the official debut of the book's cover art at the 2011 annual Book Expo of America in New York City, NY. Designed by poster artist John Warner (Phish, Citizen Cope), the illustrated cover celebrates the classic Queen.
Compiled by Robyn Dunford, edited by Robyn Dunford and Kelly Franko, and ‘officially authorized' by QUEEN's camp, the book will feature loads of exclusive commentary from those closest to the band's late singer, Freddie Mercury, including his longtime personal assistant, Peter Freestone, alongside contributions from rock and metal peers of the four legends comprising QUEEN, Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon — recounting both funny, personalized stories they experienced first-hand playing alongside the legendary frontman and formidable musicians, and how, in many cases, the band influenced them in their own artistry. About the Compilers/Editors:
Robyn Dunford first learned about Queen when she heard "Bohemian Rhapsody" on her mom's AM radio in 1976. She became a true "Queenie" the following year and has been a fan ever since. She was very fortunate to have attended many Queen Concerts in the USA and the UK and has met the band on several occasions. Robyn was the founder of the Queen + Paul Rodgers Street Team that helped promote The Cosmos Rocks in the United States. Robyn is a full-time math teacher, part-time grad student and actively works helping rescue animals from high-kill shelters. She resides in New Jersey with her husband, two sons, and three rescue dogs.
Kelly Franko became a Queen fan in 1975 when A Night at the Opera was released. She became a "Queenie" when she listened to "Bohemian Rhapsody" for the very first time on a vinyl record at a friend's home. She never had the opportunity to attend a Queen concert, but she met Brian May in 2008. She was a member of the Hollywood Records "Street Team" for Queen + Paul Rodgers, The Cosmos Rocks. In her spare time, she is the Fan Club President for "One Night of Queen" performed by Gary Mullen and the Works, a Queen tribute band from the United Kingdom. Kelly is a Registered Nurse, but is presently a stay at home mom. She resides in Texas with her husband and two daughters.
