SONGVESTÒ, IN CONJUNCTION W/PUBLISHER ROCK ‘N’ ROLL BOOKS, IS OFFERING THE FIRST-EVER AUCTION OF ROYALTIES FROM THE MOST DEFINITIVE BOOK ON HARD ROCK’S MAD SCIENTIST, MOTLEY CRUE FOUNDER/CHIEF SONGWRITER NIKKI SIXX!
Available At Unique “Music Memorabilia With A Paycheck” Auction November 15-22 At SongVest.com
Nashville, TN – October 20, 2009 – SongVest, the company that reinvented the music memorabilia business by offering the ultimate fan collectable -- the songs themselves -- has announced the first-ever online auction for book rights in history: auctioning a percentage of the master rights to publisher Rock ‘N’ Roll Books’ forthcoming re-issue of ‘An Education in Rebellion: The Biography of Nikki Sixx.’ The auction will take place November 15-22 at songvest.com and will for the first time ever offer rock fans the opportunity to own a piece of hard rock history by auctioning off a stake in the master rights to ‘An Education in Rebellion: The Biography of Nikki Sixx’, ahead of its Spring, 2010 retail release.
SongVest has partnered with the book’s publisher, Rock ‘N’ Roll Books, to offer bidders a 30% Ownership Share in the book’s master rights. In addition to sharing in the royalty stream the book’s retail/e-sales generate, and a one-of-a-kind ‘Associate Publisher’ ownership plaque, the high bidders will also receive an exclusive behind-the-scenes bonus DVD which features first-hand interview excerpts from those stars exclusively interviewed within the book, including legendary Motley Crue producers Bob Rock and Tom Werman talking about the making of such classic Crue LPs as ‘Girls, Girls, Girls’ and ‘Dr. Feelgood’; Hard Rock diva Lita Ford discussing her early 80s days as Nikki Sixx’s live-in girlfriend during the rise of Motley Crue; former London bandmate Lizzy Grey and late Quiet Riot frontman Kevin Dubrow recounting Nikki’s earliest days in L.A. navigating the seedy Sunset Strip on his rise toward superstardom; (late) recovery counselor Bob Timmons discussing Nikki’s recovery from a near-fatal Heroin Addiction in the late 1980s; former Motley Crue singer John Corabi recounting his days as Nikki’s co-writer and bandmate during Vince Neil’s departure in the early 1990s; Sixx side-project bandmates Dave Darling (58) and James Michael (Sixx:AM) discussing their in-studio collaborations with Nikki; and drummer Tommy Lee & Generation Swine co-producer Scott Humphrey discussing the band’s evolution into the experimental world of electronica in the late 1990s; as well as a host of others sharing insights into their seat on the wild roller—coaster that has been the life and times of hard rock’s mad scientist, Nikki Sixx!
“After acquiring the re-issue rights to ‘An Education in Rebellion: The Biography of Nikki Sixx’ and overseeing the manuscript’s re-editing & update from 2003 (its original pub. Date) through 2009 (including coverage of Motley Crue’s massively successful comeback trek in 2004/5, the launch of Cruefest, as well as Sixx’s branching out into the clothing business with Royal Underground among an amazingly impressive and continually prolific resume of millennium goings-on), we feel this is by far the most comprehensive independent study of ‘80s pop-metal founder Nikki Sixx’s wildly colorful life and times! Partnering with Songvest for the first-ever chance to offer rock memorbelia fans the opportunity to acquire partial rights to this book is a truly exciting chance for us to connect even more personally with Nikki’s multi-generations of fans!” commented publisher Rock ‘N’ Roll Books, who will publish the re-issued Sixx biog via L.A. based SCB Distributors in the spring of 2010.
Since 2007, SongVest has offered music fans, collectors, and investors the unique opportunity to share the royalties with the writers of their favorite music. Past auctions have included the rights to songs recorded by Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Carrie Underwood, Ringo Starr, Ozzy Osbourne, and The Monkees.
